About 8 years ago, the LED made its way into the illuminated sign  industry. Since then, the LED Tube developed and produced by Hansen Neon has become the standard product for channel letters.

The fact that the LEDs are connected in series offers a number of advantages particularly for outdoor installations (conversion protection) and saves approx. 18% energy compared to 12 volt systems.

The first installation built with LEDtube, still exists and works perfectly! Throughout the years the light output has certainly decreased, but it is not perceived negatively, because the decrease is regular, without total failure. This is convincing evidence of the reliability of LEDtube. So far, there is no known case where a customer complains of loss of light output. This is a good sign … Reliability is not the only characteristic that makes the LEDtube a standard product for lighting channel letters.
